A University of California U.C.  Readers Workshop is designed to students with Personal Insight Question P.I.Q assistance on the  (college application) . The workshop took place at Manual Arts on August 26th in room 175 at 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. U.C Readers provided help by  separating students into small groups. The first group was managed by a UCLA (Readers Workshop) showing step by step how to complete a UC applications. According students the class was easy to follow and many questions were answered about the application process. According to Gear-up’s site coordinator Ms. Conner, Gear -up has partner with a community organization called “Plus Me” which is an organization that focuses increase the confidence in youth as they pursue college and career goals . Their core values are community, authenticity, and inclusivity. Plus me emphasis using the personal narratives to help students reflect on their past present and future to guide them into a career pathway.
