Manual Arts High School is gearing up for an exciting event to celebrate student success with its “Stacked for Success” In-N-Out cookout, set to take place on Friday, May 9, 2025. This highly anticipated reward is open to seniors who completed their FAFSA or CADAA applications, juniors who fulfill all SBA test requirements, and 10th and 9th graders who maintain an impressive 96% attendance rate. Staff members who meet the same attendance benchmark will also be recognized. With the aroma of freshly grilled burgers filling the air, this initiative aims to motivate students to stay engaged in their academic and attendance goals while fostering a strong school community.
Beyond the celebratory cookout, the school is placing a strong emphasis on instructional growth for the 2024-2025 academic year. The updated instructional focus highlights culturally responsive and welcoming classrooms, cooperative learning strategies to enhance academic discourse, and an increased level of rigor through higher-order questioning techniques. Additionally, this month’s engagement strategy encourages students to participate in level 2 academic conversations, where they will practice supporting their ideas with evidence in structured discussions. With these initiatives in place, Manual Arts High School is not only rewarding hard work but also ensuring that students develop the skills needed for long-term success.
