Beginning in February, 2025 all schools in the Los Angeles Unified District have implemented a new policy that states all students will start locking all electronic devices in pouches. The LAUSD School Board voted to ban cellphones and social media on campuses, including break periods back in June.2024. Students will not be able to use their cellphones during school hours including lunchtime and breaks, this will also include the ban of smart watches and earbuds. But students will be allowed to use their phones on campus before and after school. According to the district, students are allowed to maintain access to their phone in case of an emergency.
