For nearly twenty years the Chargers have worked in conjunction with the NFL to host the High School Coach of The Week . The program recognizes high school football coaches who have made a difference in the lives of their athletes. During the fourth week of the program , the selection committee nominated Manual Arts Varsity football coach Mr. Horn for Coach of the Week . What made Coach Horn want to coach football is the fact that his dad was a football coach, Horn said. He also stated that he has been playing football since he was 8 years old and coaching since he was in 10th grade. In an interview Coach Horn indicated that a lot of his skill and experience with coaching football came from positive role models that were in his life including former coaches of his own. . He further stated that his future plans are to stay at Manual Arts and win the city championship and state championship. Coach horn stated that he has been in the playoffs about seven times and has been to the semi-finals which is one game away from a championship .In 2007 Coach Horn was coach of the week . He was also coach of the year in 2019 when Manual Arts held a Varsity Football record of 11 and 2.
Coach horn has been coaching football since 2003,he started at locke highschool being defense coordinator.2011 he was the head coach at locke till 2014 and then went to lynwood for one year.After that year coach horn arrived at Manual arts and began his journey at manual arts high school.Coach horn loves coaching and it makes him feel good because he’s helping kids make better decisions with football he loves that he can make a positive change with something he likes.Coach horn has helped kids get scholarships,From manual arts he has two kids in Los vegas another one in South Dakota he has a couple other kids playing in college football.Coach horn has effected kids life in a positive way helping them to try to stay out of trouble and be all in to football so they can stay out the streets.
