At Manual Arts High School, homecoming is a week-long celebration that typically occurs in the fall. This year at Manual Arts, homecoming activities started with Spirit Week which took place from October 2nd thru October 7th. Special thanks to Leadership students , the week was filled with fun activities and events that helped build school spirit. Students were excited about the upcoming football game and dance. Spirit week started off Monday October 2nd with “Pajama Day” where students came to school dressed in pajamas. Tuesday was “Twin Day” where students dressed like twins. Wednesday was “Nineties -Two Thousand Day” where students dressed in attire from the past. Thursday was “Denim Day” where students dressed in denim . On Friday , students wore pink to the homecoming football game against Maywood C.E.S. in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness. Finally , on Saturday there was a homecoming dance. Throughout the week, the Toiler spirit was revived, and students enjoyed the fun.
One of the highlights of homecoming week is the pep rally. The pep rally is a high-energy event where students gather in the gymnasium or auditorium to show their school spirit. The cheerleaders and band perform, and the football team is introduced. The pep rally is a way for students to show their support for their team and build excitement for the football game.
