Cell phones were getting stolen out of students’ hands in the month of August 2018. This is the reason why many students got a call on behalf of the LAPD informing students that this story was a fact. Specifically, these crimes, according to students, were committed on Vermont Avenue while students used their cell phones. LAPD asks students to please keep cell phones away while on Vermont Avenue.
