The Manual Arts High School leadership team is hosting a Winter Formal Masquerade dance, on February 11 at the Omni Los Angeles Hotel from 7:00 p.m to 11:30 p.m.

“We decided to do winter formal as a way of distracting  people from their college applications and stuff like that,”  said senior Teresa Antonio. “A lot of people are stressing out and winter formal is a way for students to de-stress from all that for a night,” said Antonio.

The Omni Hotel was selected because of the winter formal vibe that the location possesses. The location will also allow students to explore Downtown Los Angeles.

Ticket prices were up to $25 but are expected to rise to $30 next week and $35 the day of the event. Leadership has had some difficulties this year selling tickets to their events but they are hopeful that the dance will attract a big crowd. “We always struggle to sell tickets but in the end it all turns out great” said leadership teacher Ms. Contreras.

Students are looking forward to the event and are looking forward to the first big event of the winter semester “I hope this winter formal will be great because many students are going to spend time together,” said senior Yesenia Garcia.” It’s our last years were be able to see our classmates and friends.”
